The hostel had a great atmosphere and the owner was really attentive. I loved watching the local fishermen sell their catch on the roadside, it was such a delightful sight. The location was perfect for exploring the beach and town.
Oh, just a small detail, the place could use a bit more cleaning, but hey, who needs cleanliness when you have charm, right?

We had an amazing time at Wake Up in Weligama. the location was perfect, just a short walk from the beach. Mahesh, the host, was incredibly friendly and made an effort to bring everyone together for activities and outings. We loved being part of the hostel's vibrant community, with a WhatsApp group where guests could plan activities and meals together. It was a great place for solo travelers to make friends. the hostel had a fantastic ambiance, delicious Sri Lankan breakfast, and adorable dogs to cuddle with. The internet was reliable, and even without AC, the dorm had enough fans to keep us cool. Cons: Can't fault anything about it! 😊.

During my recent transit in Weligama, I had the opportunity to stay at Wake Up hostel. The location of the hostel is definitely one of its highlights. It is conveniently situated near the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport, making it a great choice for travelers looking for a quick and hassle-free stay before their next flight. the proximity to Koggala Airport is a bonus for those planning to explore more of this beautiful region.
While my stay at Wake Up was adequate for my transit needs, I must admit that I found the hostel to be a bit messy and in need of some renovation. There were several items scattered around, especially in the kitchen, which made it feel less organized and clean.

Stayed at amazing hostel, owner helpful and kind. Homely living room with cool film posters. Nice, clean, and comfy beds. Amazing shower and WiFi. Cheap and delicious food with large portions. Can't wait to see how it develops.

I had an amazing stay at this cozy hostel that felt like home. The value for money was great, with spacious and clean private rooms and dorms. The location was perfect, just a short 5-minute walk to the beach. The staff, especially the owner Mahesh, made me feel like part of a little family, organizing dinners and events for everyone to enjoy.
The breakfast menu could have been improved with more variety and options.

I wanted to visit Coconut Tree Hill very much, so I chose Wake Up for its location. However, I was pleasantly surprised by their offer of a paid airport shuttle service. I also liked the option to have lunch at the property.
The hostel could be better. The kitchen was quite dirty and there is no air conditioning in the rooms.

The atmosphere at this hostel is incredible, making you feel right at home. The friendly host truly cares about your experience. The location is perfect for socializing and meeting other solo travelers. With a kitchen, living area for movie nights, and an outdoor chill space, it's like living together with friends. You can enjoy the Sri Lankan breakfast and take part in various activities organized by the hostel. The internet is reliable, and there are enough fans to keep you cool.
The cleanliness of certain areas, such as the kitchen and chill area, could be improved.

The host made this place perfectly to enjoy your time. Every week you can marvel at the denizens of the deep, who end their days being hacked up and sold from roadside fish stalls. Such a good guy, creating a spirit of family more than a hostel.
Oh, and let's not forget about the charming kitchen with its lovely dirtiness. Such attention to detail!

I recently stayed at Wake Up and it was my second visit. As someone who enjoys working out and surfing, this hotel was perfect for me. The location was great, just 5 minutes from the beach and 10 minutes to the center by walking. The rooms had comfortable mosquito nets and a private fan. The owners were friendly and made me feel like part of their family. We even went to parties, the beach, and ate meals together. Plus, they make amazing kombucha and delicious cookies and carrot cakes.
Would recommend this hotel.
